Co-Founder and Chairman

Sobhi Abduljaleel Batterjee is a pioneering leader who is recognized for his role in shaping the healthcare industry in the GCC and MENA region over the past 35 years.

He is the Founder and Chairman of the Bait al Batterjee Medical Company, a leading medical conglomerate that owns and operates the Saudi German Hospital Group. The companies he has founded and built, employ over 12,000 people in healthcare, medical education and other related sectors in the region. He is credited with forming many strategic and visionary international partnerships to improve access to quality healthcare in the MENA region.

He was recognized with the H.H. Sheikh Mohammad bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for the Best Arab Management Personality, Healthcare CEO award – Arab Health, and National Medal of Cedar – Knight by the Government of Lebanon. In 2008, he received the EY Middle East Entrepreneur of the Year Award, and in 2016 he was awarded Healthcare CEO of the Year by CEO Middle East Awards for outstanding contribution of an individual to the Middle East healthcare industry.

He has received a BEng in Electrical Engineering from The University of Kansas, KS. USA in 1972 and a MEng in Electrical Engineering from The University of Colorado, CO. USA in 1973.
