Makarem S. Batterjee is the driving force behind Humania. He is widely recognized as one of the most prominent young business leaders in the MENA healthcare space.
Mr Batterjee serves as the Vice Chairman and Board Member of Saudi German Hospital Group and Vice Chairman of the Middle East Healthcare Company, a company listed on the Tadawul Stock Exchange. He is also the Vice Chairman of the Bait Al Batterjee Group of Companies, a group that employs over 12,000 people across the healthcare space. He has established and rolled out a number of healthcare initiatives, including the international “Gold Gym” fitness franchise in Saudi Arabia. He is the youngest member to serve on the prestigious Bretton Woods Committee and is Founding President of the Saudi chapter of the “EO” Entrepreneurs’ Organization, a leading global non-profit.
In 2008, he was recognized as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum in Davos. In 2009, he was selected as the Middle East Young Entrepreneur of the Year by the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Makarem S. Batterjee holds an MBA from London Business School. He has also been awarded an Honorary Doctorate by the United Nations.
